Society for Cinema & Media Studies Publisher Description
The Society for Cinema & Media Studies, founded in 1959, is a professional organization of film and television scholars with over 1,000 members in the United States, Canada, and other countries throughout the world. Its membership includes university faculty, graduate students, archivists, filmmakers, and others devoted to the art of the moving image. Members receive Cinema Journal, the Job List, and all relevant mailings issued by the Society for Cinema & Media Studies. Members are also invited to attend and participate in the annual conference which highlights ongoing research in the field through the presentation of scholarly papers and screenings of films and videos.
