SPUR (San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association) Publisher Description

Through research, education and advocacy, SPUR promotes good planning and good government in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The organization began when a group of San Francisco city leaders joined forces to improve the quality of housing after the 1906 earthquake and fire. Today, SPUR bring people together from across the political spectrum to develop solutions to the big problems cities face.

With offices in San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland, SPUR is recognized as a leading civic planning organization and respected for its independent and holistic approach to urban issues.
