Woman's Art, Inc. was founded in 1979 for the express purpose of publishing the semiannual Woman's Art Journal. In so doing, Woman's Art, Inc. has served to promote research on neglected women artists and issues concerning women in the visual arts and, since 1980, has provided a venue for publication of this research.
